Abortion Ban Hoax Conspiracy Theory May Be True

I’d like to come back to the conspiracy theory I came up with that the movement to ban abortion is a hoax. This started out as a brainstorming exercise in which I came up with a plausible sounding conspiracy theory and readers would find holes in it. There was a lot of feedback. But not a lot of convincing arguments disproving otherwise. I listed multiple reasons why the theory could be true some of which are more far fetched and I don’t stand by. I made that clear in the post.

However after careful consideration I’ve come to the conclusion that the conspiracy theory I came up with on my own may in fact be true. The possible reasons for Republicans not actually banning abortion still vary. But I still believe the abstract of the theory that within the highest leadership of power of the Republican Party there is no intent to actually ban abortion and there never will be. The goal is to keep the hope alive that abortion will someday be banned in order to maintain the pro life voters.

What was the nail in the coffin for me was the years President Trump has been in office. There was literally no effort by him, no initiative, no promise to sign a bill banning abortion if it comes to his desk, no calling on Congress to send that bill to his desk, no Supreme Court picks that will (definitely) overturn Roe v Wade, NOTHING. Not even a story about how he became pro life all of a sudden. What’s more telling is his infamous response to Chris Matthews when asked should they be punishment for abortion. His answer was he hasn’t thought about it but that there “has to be some form of punishment.” He assumed that’s what you’re supposed to say. Trump quickly walked that back clearly not realizing you’re not supposed to say that in Republican politics. Then what was more telling is when former Republican Governor Mike Huckabee said in response to that controversy of whether women should be punished for abortion

“Of course you don’t … We’ve never said that there was some punishment that ought to be meted out to a woman who had an abortion …. Being pro life means you’re trying to make things better not see if you can hurt somebody.” Mike Huckabee

There it is. He affirmed my point I’ve made that a politician saying they are pro life is a personal value and not an agenda.

As a staunch anti-conspiracy theory activist you may be wondering why am I taking such a position? Because I think we all need to be honest with ourselves. We all believe in some form of speculation about events, people’s motives, people’s alternative motives, their secret agendas etc. We all believe in some conspiracy theories even if we’re ultra skeptics. There are many other conspiracy theories I myself believe in but I’m open to someone telling me I’m wrong about what I’m speculating about. This is the first conspiracy theory I’m open to say I think is possible. Read more about the Abortion Ban Hoax Conspiracy Theory here.
